Castor oil has carminative properties.
A carminative, also known as carminativum (plural carminativa), is an herb or preparation that either prevents formation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract, or facilitates the expulsion of said gas, thereby combating flatulence.

Carminatives are often mixtures of essential oils and herbal spices with a tradition in folk medicine for this use. Examples:

* Anise seed
* Basil
* Caraway
* Cardamom
* Cinnamon
* Coriander
* Cumin

Peyer's Patches and Nervous System

Dr. William A. McGarey (Chairman of the Board of the A.R.E. Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona.) does present a plausible hypothesis relating to Edgar Cayce's suggestion that castor oil packs can strengthen the Peyer's Patches, which are tiny patches of lymphatic tissue in the mucosal surface of the small intestine.

According to Cayce, the Peyer's Patches produce a substance which facilitates electrical contact between the autonomous and the cerebrospinal nervous system when it reaches those areas via the bloodstream. Dr. McGarey thus understands Cayce to say that the health of the entire nervous system is, to an extent, maintained through the substance produced by the Peyer's Patches when they are in good health. Although the Peyer's Patches were discovered in 1677, it is only recently that medical science has begun to recognize them as constituents of the body's immune system.

No sleep, stressful work habits and a party-all-the-time lifestyle will not allow for proper digestion, circulation or detoxification, which ultimately will be seen in the skin condition.

In depth article reviews the effects of lifestyle, emotions, environment, stress, etc. on the skin, the largest organ and important in a holistic approach to wellbeing.
