Can Castor Oil Penetrate the Skin?

According to articles on transdermal absorption, a substance needs to have a molecular weight below 500 to be able to penetrate the stratum corneum*.

Castor Oil has a molecular weight of 298.

From this we can extrapolate that the castor oil has the potential to make it through the first barrier of skin.

The thickness of the Epidermis varies from 0.12-0.17mm and the Dermis varies from 1-2mm.

*The major barrier within the skin is the stratum corneum, the top layer of the epidermis. The stratum corneum consists of keratinized, flattened remnants of once actively dividing epidermal cells. Hygroscopic, but impermeable to water, it behaves as a tough, flexible membrane. The intercellular space is rich in lipids. The stratum corneum is about ten microns thick, but on the palms and soles it ranges up to 600 microns in thickness. (Gennaro, AR, Ed., Remington’s Practice of Pharmacy, 20th ed. Essential Oils & Bio Frequency

What is frequency and how does it pertain to essential oils?

The following is an excerpt from the chapter "Science and Application" from the Reference Guide for Essential Oils by Connie and Alan Higley

Frequency is a measurable rate of electrical energy that is constant between any two points. Everything has an electrical frequency. Bruce Tainio of Tanio Technology in Cheny, Washington, developed new equipment to measure the bio-frequency of humans and foods. Bruce Tainio and Dr. D. Gary Young, a North American expert on essential oils, used this bio-frequency monitor to determine the relationship between frequency and disease. Some of the results of their studies are as follows:

Human Brain 72-90 MHz
Human Body (day) 62-68 MHz
Cold Symptoms 58 MHz
Flu Symptoms 57 MHz
Candida 55 MHz
Epstein Barr 52 MHz
Cancer 42 MHz
Death Begins 25 MHz

Processed/canned food 0 MHz
Fresh Produce up to 15 MHz
Dry Herbs 12-22 MHz
Fresh Herbs 20-27 MHz
Essential Oils 52-320 MHz

Note: Due to the sensitivity of the instruments, these results are not easily duplicatable. What is important is the relativity of the numbers and the fact that the higher frequency of the essential oils can help raise the frequency of the human body to a more normal level.

Another part of this same study measured the frequency fluctuations within the human body as different substances were introduced. The chart shown below illustrates the frequency reaction of the human body to the introduction of coffee. The subsequent time necessary for the frequency to return to its origional measurement was shown to be substantially reduced with the use of essential oils.

Frequency Reaction to Substance

Initially, the frequency of each of two different individuals---the first a 26 yr. old male and the second a 24 yr. old male---was measured at 66 MHz for both. The first individual held a cup of coffee (without drinking any) and his frequency dropped to 58 MHz in 3 seconds. He then removed the coffee and inhaled an aroma of essential oils. Withins 21 seconds, his frequency had returned to 66MHz. The second individual took a sip of coffee and his frequency dropped to 52 MHz in the same 3 seconds. However, no essential oils were used during the recovery time and it took 3 days for his frequency to return to the initial 66 MHz.

Castor Oil for Tinnitus

Dr. W. Lindsay Jacob had a patient suffering from tinnitus for over three years come to him. The tinnitus was so severe that it prevented the woman from working and was so baffling in its nature that her doctors sent her to a psychiatrist.

Dr. Jacob had heard how castor oil drops have worked very well in treating allergies and suspected an allergy as the culprit with this frustrated patient. He started her on castor oil drops (6-8 each morning) on her tongue, followed by a glass of water. After only four weeks, the tinnitus had completely disappeared and the patient was back at work.
