Hydrocele (functional edema of testicles)

Hydrocele: accumulation of fluid in the testes, pain may denote the area has become infected.

Since an apparent root cause is a toxic condition of the system (resulting possibly from wrong dietary habits), a series of castor oil packs over the entire abdomen (not just the liver) is recommended: 4 days of 2 hour-packs, 3 days no treatment - repeat.

Also, castor oil mixed with organic whole milk (3.5%) can be used as a purgative initially. For consideration: a raw fruit diet (no bananas) for several days with lemon-juice and water taken.

Cool hip bathes, twice daily, for 10 minutes each are helpful and a hot Epsom-salt bath twice weekly. Loose clothing to be worn.

Draining excess fluid is one method. However this does not remove the trouble, only its effects. The underlying toxicity must be addressed for the condition not to reoccur. During this time, an effort must be made to improve the overall health of the individual: fresh air, moderate exercise, emphasis on raw diet. Strain and habits with a tendency to lower the tone of the body should be avoided.

Topically, hydroceles can be cleared by using the mullein-lobelia combination as a fomentation over the penis and testicle area six nights a week until improvement noticed.

Also, YOGA is by far the simplest consideration.
Vajrasana, (or the Thunderbolt pose) benefits many ailments that originate or involve the pelvic area. Be sure to use Variation II when practising this pose for full therapeutic effect. Testicular swelling and hydrocele are two conditions treated in this way.

Acne & Liver Relationship

Castor oil pack therapy will benefit those with Acne.

Recognizing that the skin is an excretory organ, when the liver is overloaded the toxins may have nowhere to go; in many cases they are forced to emerge from the only other possible exit ... the pores of the skin.

The relationship between a sluggish liver and acne is not new, however. Other treatments recognize the effect of a congested liver on the condition/health of the skin, including herbs that act on the liver.

Due to its role as a liver and gallbladder detoxifier, as well as a diuretic, dandelion root is also recommended for skin disorders. Dandelion root increases the secretion of bile and promotes cleansing of the liver, improves appetite, digestion, and elimination of wastes. Herbalist Michael Tierra refers to this herb as, “one of the most wonderful liver tonics of all.”

Castor Oil Cleansing

Castor oil works like fiber in the food. Drinking castor oil early in the morning induces the gall bladder to pour the bile into the stomach. (Early morning bile flow is heavier than at any other time) and also the stomach and intestines are empty to be cleaned. When hot water is sipped it causes mucus to be secreted which forces movement of bile and castor oil mixture to move down to the intestine. Bile and oil forms detergent (SOAP). A cleaning detergent is basically oil that is bonded to salt. Here castor oil forms a chemical complex with bile salts and forms a cleansing detergent. Sipping water makes a typical "HOT WASH". This really cleans the stomach and intestines and also gets rid of the toxins that come through the bile. Thus this is a powerful way of detoxification. Thanks to Ayurvedic masters who have understood the detoxification process and the physiology of the body so perfectly.
